Jinzaburō Matoba (的場 甚三郎?) is one of the supporting character of Outbreak Company series. He is the main antagonist of the series and the man from the Japanese government who hires Kanō Shin'ichi to the task of spreading the Japanese culture in Eldant. However, he only reveals him the true nature of his mission after having him drugged and taken away from Earth.

Matoba is always friendly to his allies and Shinichi. Too bad about his intention to subjugate Eldant society by monopolizing the supply of otaku culture and using Shinichi as a pawn. When attempts are made on Shinichi's life, Matoba seems to make empty excuses on behalf of Japan's government. However, he does help Shinichi goad the superior to threaten him within earshot of Petralka Anne Eldant III. He purposefully omitted from his reports the fact that the queen is perfectly fluent in Japanese so that if necessary he can pull a confession as his trump card against his own superiors.

Etymology[]
- The name Jinzaburō means "tremendously, very, great, exceedingly" (甚) (jin), "three" (三) (sabu/zabu) and "son" (郎) (rō).
- Jinzaburō's surname Matoba means "target, typical" (的) (mato) and "field, place" (場) (ba).

- Episode 3 shows Matoba's favorite anime as Pencil Shin-chan (えんぴつしんちゃん?) and the favorite character as Hiroji (ひろじ?).
